Confetti Hostel

The confetti hostel plays with the concept of “Controlled Chaos”, utilizing carefully sloped roofs to unify the scattered spaces together.

Given the building's geographical context in the desert, the sloped roof is purposefully designed to facilitate the controlled flow of rainwater into a dedicated garden area. When observed from specific vantage points, particularly illustrated in Section 1, the roof assumes a pronounced "V" configuration– unifying and tying the ‘chaotic’ spaces together, again drawing attention to and accentuating the central green area. The alignment of the roof's slope is meticulously integrated into the landscape design, reinforcing the building's symbiotic relationship with its natural surroundings.

In the plan, a deliberate demarcation between private/quieter spaces and louder/public areas is evident, with a strategic connection facilitated through a central core activity zone. This spatial arrangement aims to foster a harmonious yet distinct coexistence between the various functional zones within the structure.

Furthermore, this linear design feature not only emphasizes the connection to the landscape but also serves as a visual cue, directing attention towards two significant monumental elements situated at each terminus of the line. The intentional placement of this architectural motif adds a layer of purposeful orientation, enriching the overall design concept with a thoughtful and contextual narrative.

Material: Concrete is used due to its high thermal mass, which is perfect for architecture located in the desert.
